Family Mediation and Facilitation Services

Conflict happens whenever people live together. We can choose whether the outcome will be helpful or destructive. At Mediation Works we provide mediation services for couples, families (including blended and extended families), siblings, parents, and children. Mediation helps parties identify choices and options. Through mediation, parties often turn conflict into cooperation by working together on a resolution.

Our Mediators work to assist families in:
  • Opening the doors to communication
  • Creating a positive environment to make change
  • Building trust and understanding through listening
  • Develop options and solutions in difficult family decisions

Examples of commonly mediated conflicts include:

  • Relocation
  • Financial issues
  • Healthcare and long term care decisions
  • Career changes
  • Modifications to parenting plans
Family members make all decisions and the mediator will assist families in drafting any agreements.
In our parent- teen mediations, we create a safe atmosphere where everyone can discuss their wants, needs, and feelings with each other.  Our mediators will help guide the process by facilitating a session in which all the parties have an opportunity for safe communication between the parties, so that everyone can be heard.
There are many reasons youth and parents seek mediation, including but not limited to:
Communication Issues Curfew and Car Use
School Attendance and Grades Foster or Stepparent Relationships
Dating or Sexual Activity Trust Issues
House Rules and Responsbilities Sibling Issues

By state statute and professional ethics, mediators are strictly prohibited from providing any type of legal advice. Please refer to your legal council and/or the links for resources on legal information:
